When you first enter Gemstone III, you will be in the Character Manager. This is where you decide what skills, ratings, characteristics and attributes your persona will take on. It is an important process, and one you may want to spend some time and thought on. You also return to the Character Manager any time you wish to check your stats, skills, experience and spells, or when you gain a new level. Once in the game, you can access the character manager by finding the front desk within an inn and typing CHECK IN.
There are two means of character generation. Full character generation gives you total control over how your stats are divided up initially. You also control the skills with which you enter the game. Quick-Gen chooses all your character's stats and skills automatically, reducing the amount of time it takes to generate a character. You will still determine race, profession, and physical appearance. If you are entering Elanthia for the first time, you may wish to choose the Quick-Gen option in order to become familiar with how the world looks and operates. At a later time, you may erase that character ("reroll") and create another, using the complete Full Generation method.
